Center Stage presents 'A Bad Year for Tomatoes' | Arts & Culture
Ready for a murderously funny story?
A famous actress moves away from the limelight and into New England, ready to shun public life so she can write her memoirs. However, a string of interruptions from visitors leads Myra Marlowe to invent a homicidal alter-ego.
"Sister Sadie," as she's called, is said to be locked upstairs, but occasionally breaks out in order to scare off Myra's unwanted visitors. The plan works... at first. Then, Sister Sadie becomes a local legend and begins attracting her own fans, admirers, and even good Samaritans wishing to save her soul!
Continually unable to work in peace, Myra makes a last-ditch attempt to send her harassers away... but her idea may put her under suspicion from the local sheriff!
"A Bad Year for Tomatoes" runs August 22-24 and August 29-30 at the Rita Theatre, 11 W 3rd Street, Sheffield. Doors open at 7 p.m. each night, curtain up at 7:35.
