Russellville man held for Colbert Co. break-in | Crime

A 30 year old man from Russellville is being held in the Colbert County Jail on theft and burglary charges.

According to Sheriff Ronnie May, Justin Cummings was arrested and charged on Thursday. May believes Cummings is responsible for a break-in at a home on Smith Lane in Tuscumbia on Tuesday. May tells WAFF 48 that Cummings stole a .25 caliber pistol and jewelry from the home. He says the homeowner walked in on the burglary in progress and apparently scared Cummings off.

Two days later, deputies responding to a domestic violence situation, found the car that the burglary victim saw at her home, and took Cummings into custody. Police say the bruises and cuts on his face are from that domestic incident.

He's being held on $10,000 bond.
