Former arson investigator sentenced for fire scheme

A federal court has sentenced a former arson investigator to 33 months in prison after he was found guilty in an arson scheme.

According to US Attorney Joyce Vance, 56 year old Anthony McAnalley hired someone to burn down the Sidelines Sports Deli in Colbert County. The business was destroyed the day after Christmas 2010.

Prosecutors argued that McAnalley benefited from insurance payouts when the restaurant burned down. He was found guilty earlier this year.

McAnalley had faced up to ten years.
